BMW i4

After launching the iX, the flagship electric SUV, BMW also aims to bring the all-electric i4 to India sometime at the end of the second quarter of 2022. The sedan is based on the combustion-powered 4 Series Gran Coupé.

The unique design and tallest kidney grille are what set the i4 apart from most BMW models. However, the i4 still bears resemblance to the 4 Series Gran Coupé. That said, the India-spec i4 is most likely to have adaptive LED headlights, LED taillights, an electric sunroof, parking and reversing assistants, anti-dazzle and heated functions for side-view mirrors, 360-degree cameras, powered boot opening, welcome light carpet, front and rear parking sensors and basic ADAS features.

The i4 is not the same as other gasoline-powered BMW models on the inside, thanks to the unique single-piece screen. It gets a new 12.3-inch driver display and a larger 14.9-inch infotainment system with iDrive OS 8. Apart from that, the i4 comes with multi-colour ambient lighting, electronically adjustable front seats with massage and ventilation functions, a hi-fi sound system, wireless charging and multi-zone temperature control.

The i4 gets an 83.9kWh battery pack with a range between 493km and 590km, as per WLTP. And it is capable of making 335bhp and 430Nm of torque. For charging, the i4 has a maximum DC charging capacity of 200kW via the CCS type connector. On the other hand, the battery can also be charged using Type 2 AC connectors such as 7, 11 and 22kW.
